During exposure to the device, the melanin (chromophore) contained in the hair follicle absorbs the IPL light, which is then converted into heat. The increase in temperature within the hair follicle results in the destruction of its structure, which ultimately leads to a disruption in hair nutrition and consequently its loss.
IPL – SHR laser is perfect for discoloration removal treatments. During the treatment, the light energy is transformed into heat, intensively heating the pigment and resulting in the destruction of pigmented spots.
Depending on the intensity of the discoloration and its size, the depigmentation process may occur in two ways: small discolorations are broken down and absorbed through phagocytosis, while dark and larger discolorations peel off with the scab formed after the procedure.

In the treatment of vascular lesions using IPL – SHR laser, the target chromophore is oxyhemoglobin present in red blood cells. Endogenous heat causes breakdown of the pigment and seals the blood vessels. In addition, increased synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers improves skin condition, making it thicker and firmer, which makes blood vessels less visible and thus reduces redness.
One of the causes of acne lesions is the Propionibacterium Acnes bacteria. These are anaerobic bacteria that produce metabolites – porphyrins. Porphyrins contribute to the formation of reactive oxygen species under the influence of heat, which are deadly for Propionibacterium Acnes bacteria. As a result, there is a reduction in inflammation during acne. Another effect of IPL-SHR device therapy for acne lesions is a reduction in sebum secretion.
